A cosy traditional Old World bar located on the Main Street in the heart of Castlebar. A popular spot with all age groups, this bar is split into three main sections.
There is also a Dartboard, Juke box and a Pool table on the mezzanine level.

All major sporting events are shown on numerous screens around the bar with fantastic surround sound. A selection of drinks promotions are always available.

Bar food is available daily with a large selection of Sandwiches, Salad Rolls, Panini, Baps, Wraps, Salad Bowls, Milkshakes and Smoothies as well as Freshly made Soup of the day and a large selection of teas and freshly ground Coffees.

The History: The Irish House was opened by Mr James Heverin in November 1893 as general drapers and was described in the local press at the time as being "one of the finest business establishments west of the Shannon’’. This business operated until the 1950’s. The original shop has now been split into two commercial units, one of which houses The Irish House Bar which was opened in 1992 by a great grandson of the original owner, James. It is now being run by the 5th generation of the Heverin family to occupy the building.
